i use handsoap (http://github.com/troelskn/handsoap) and savon (http://github.com/rubiii/savon) for soap webservices. they're both working great. love the fact that i do not have to use soap4r.

I went through SOAP hell with Ruby and C# not too long ago. I found that Soap4r doesn't support GET requests for clients to query the interface. The C# programmer on the other end was helpless and could only ring his hands in despair because he just couldn't use his IDE to "add web reference" (even when I was prepared to send him the WSDL file).

In the end I made a micro Rails app and used ActionWebService which worked fine and allowed him to query. Thanks for this tip, I'll check out this API next time I have to go through the nonsense. Man is SOAP overblown though.
